I just updated my first "ideas" post again to reflect what ideas had been done and whether I'd changed my mind on others.
Having done that, I figured I should do an updated "ideas" post.
So...FINALLY got my contest-version Sailor Grimm out of the way. I had at least a month to do it but didn't do it till a couple days ago. Took lots of time but finally got it done. That frees me up to draw other stuff.
So on the horizon (and in no particular order)...
-"Amon Lives" Graffiti - This is inspired by the "Anna Lives" campaign created for season 2 of the Syfy show Alphas, a show I'm really into. The idea was first teased via a graffiti image that could be seen in one episode for a brief second, and clues about it are supposedly going to be teased throughout the season. Anyway...my version will involve Amon, the main bad guy from The Legend of Korra, because I refuse to believe he's really dead. I was hoping to do this all in Illustrator - since I want to get better at Illustrator - but it seems you need to use Illustrator AND Photoshop to achieve the graffiti effect. So I will still draw it in Illustrator (though I'll probably use a stock background) and then follow the tutorial I found to get the graffiti effect.
-Fanart of Asami Sato - Was going through the deviations from Legend-of-Korra and saw quite a bit of Asami stuff. Though I'm essentially a Makorra shipper (or at least that's the ship I support now...I didn't really care about ships when I was watching season 1), I still do like Asami as a character. So I want to try drawing her.
-Stuff for "Tutorial" Groups - I want to actually become active in all the "tutorial" groups I joined - Those-who-practice, TheArtAcademy, MangaAcademy, DeviantAcademy, The-Sharpener, MangaWorkshop, FanArtClassroom, and ArtistsHospital. Not to mention all the "fan club"-esque groups I joined!
-100 Themes Challenge - 100ThemesChallenge was one of the first groups I joined on DeviantArt, and now that I found out how their challenge works, I'm going to try out the different variations!
-More art of Sailor Grimm and her civilian identity Téa, as well as group pics of her with the Grimmseijin and with the Sol Senshi.
-Art of my Music Land Maestress characters (may do this for at least one variation of 100ThemesChallenge).
-Sailor Buttercream Sparkle - I know, goofy Senshi name...anyway this is for SugarSenshiSparkle, a little fun thing I just found out about. When I read about it, my first thought was about buttercream (a super sweet cake icing), so I submitted the name, and I got in! Yay! DONE
-Art for Crystalomic's Sailor Senshi Secret Santa - Just entered this with Sailor Grimm. It's an art exchange done in the style of a "Secret Santa" thing. I don't have to draw something for this till November, when I get my assignment, and then I have till December 23rd to actually post it (I can't post it earlier). I hope I get an interesting senshi to draw, and I'm really curious to see how someone else draws Sailor Grimm! (This also means I need to get her full profile up soon, so my Secret Santa has something to work with). DONE
-Art for "Holy Warrior": This is a project I just conceived that is on the back burner at the moment. It grew out of an idea for this "virtues and vices senshi" contest I read about, a contest which may or may not happen (it's just been suggested on someone's journal so far). "Holy Warrior" is a game somewhat inspired by The Divine Comedy and features a bunch of virtue and vice senshi. Not sure when this art will come along.
-Victorious characters manga-style - A random idea I had. Need to find some good references for this. Scrapped idea
-More manga practice, naturally!
Well, those are my ideas for now. Enjoy!

Long time no update
Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while!
I have various drawings from my manga practice still to scan; I hope to put those up ASAP.
I would like to do more drawings of Sailor Grimm and Sailor Buttercream Sparkle, possibly even using this Sai tool everybody talks about, or Sta.sh. Or Illustrator, since I should probably learn Illustrator anyway.
Also I want to finish the drawing ideas in my "Brimming with ideas" posts (one and two).
Music Land Maestress is on the back burner right now because I had a really bad time with it for JaNoWriMo. I hope to return to it soon.
I may start doing Doctor Who fanart, including art of Alyson "Alys"
I DID IT!
Sorry I've been kinda scarce here everybody. Been kinda busy with NaNoWriMo and all.
But all my hard work paid off. I WON!!
30 days and 52,917 words (53,084 according to the NaNo validator, which is always off of the word count Microsoft Word gives). I am in utter shock, still, days later. I mean this was my first time doing NaNo, and I went into it wanting to win, but I honestly doubted I would, considering how I fell very behind three times.
Anyway just wanted to share the news with you all!
NaNo in Progress
So it's currently Day 5 of NaNoWriMo. I am on chapter 3 of my novel and have written over 7,000 words so far (as of this morning). What?!
You can follow my progress at NaNo's website or at my writing blog, To Walden and Beyond!.
The project is going pretty well, though I admit yesterday and today, days that I didn't have to work, I don't think I felt as motivated. But I'm chugging along.
I have a lot of prep stuff to do still, stuff I didn't finish before NaNo started. Hoping to catch up on that today, since I spent most of my day yesterday organizing my writing-related internet bookmarks in Firefox and Chrome (not really using IE that muc
Music Land Maestress for NaNoWriMo
Ok, so I made a decision which might end up being potentially risky. Well, maybe risky isn't the right word.
Ok, I'll just say it...I decided to work on my Music Land Maestress story for NaNoWriMo.
For those of you who have no idea what that is, let me explain. NaNoWriMo stands for "National Novel Writing Month." It is an annual event which is run by the non-profit organization The Office of Letters and Light. They also run the Young Writers' Program (a kids' and teens' version of NaNoWriMo), ScriptFrenzy (a script version of NaNoWriMo that happens in April), and its newest program, a summer version of NaNoWriMo called Camp NaNoWriMo that r
